Kathmandu Bhaktapur 04-1 Bhaktapur Durbar Square Golden Gate  [10 of 36]


The Golden Gate, or Sun Dhoka, in Bhaktapur’s Durbar Square is actually made of brass, and is one of the most important pieces of art in the whole Kathmandu Valley. The gate is the entrance to the main courtyard of the 55 Window Palace. The gate and palace were built by King Bhupatindra Malla but were not completed until 1754.
